Identity Revelation is a feature offered within AnComm’s ‘Talk About It®’ anonymous online and text based reporting service that allows a schools administrator, teacher law enforcement official or counselor to request that the identity of a student with whom they have been conversing be revealed.  Upon launching the service, each student is presented with a Login ID and a Password.  AnComm, not the school, owns the relationship between students’ user credentials and their true identity and therefore serves as an intermediary between school officials and student data to ensure that one’s anonymity is protected.  Used only in the direst of circumstances and as a last measure, AnComm’s Identity Revelation feature has prevented multiple life threatening incidents at schools across the country. Following the guidelines of the "Counselor's Oath" Identity Revelation occurs in three situations; When a student threatens their own life, the life of another individual, or harm to their school.

When A Threat Is Made…
Once a school official receives a message from a student in a life threatening situation, the faculty member via the ‘talk About It’ service requests the student’s identity. AnComm rapidly reviews the message thread and seriousness of the threat and makes a decision to reveal the student’s identity to the administrator so that they may quickly intervene in the situation or call authorities to ensure precautions and preventative measures can immediately be taken.

Strict Ethical Standards
AnComm keeps information confidential unless disclosure is required to prevent clear and imminent danger to the student or others or when legal requirements demand that confidential information be revealed. Counselors are consulted with appropriate professionals when in doubt as to the validity of an exception. AnComm protects the confidentiality of students’ records and releases personal data in accordance with prescribed laws and school policies. Student information stored and transmitted electronically is treated with the same care as traditional student records.
