AnComm to Host Webinar for Texas Schools: How to Implement an Anonymous Incident Reporting System
Online Event to Provide School Administrators with Practical Guidance in Meeting Attorney General's Mandate for Improving School Safety

OXFORD, MS — November 7, 2007 — When Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott recently announced his School Safety Initiative he gave administrators a very important homework assignment with a rapidly approaching due date. By September of 2008, the state's chief law enforcement official expects schools throughout the state to have implemented a series of new safety measures that protect students from school violence and to report the results of their efforts to the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC).

In addition to developing campus emergency plans, the Attorney General's School Safety Initiative recommends that schools implement an anonymous incident reporting program so that teens can reach out and come forward -- without fear of embarrassment or retribution -- to report issues and problems involving themselves or their peers. By instituting anonymous reporting, the Attorney General believes information-sharing amongst students, faculty and law enforcement will be improved and the likelihood of school violence dramatically reduced.

To help Texas school administrators, faculty and teachers learn how to evaluate, select and implement an anonymous incident reporting program, AnComm will host a live Webinar on Thursday, November 15 at 10 A.M. (Central Standard Time). To register for this one-time event, visit http://www.ancomm.com/webinar.
